Testing Guide

Welcome to the Blindly Beta Program. Blindly is a privacy-first, audio-led dating experience built around mutual consent, live Presence Clips, and ephemeral 24-hour private spaces.

Follow the steps below to install the latest beta build, test the core flows, and earn ₹1,000 – ₹10,000 in bug rewards for verified issues.

Section 01

1. Install the Beta App

iPhone · iOS 15.5+ Apple TestFlight

iOS (TestFlight)

  1. Install TestFlight from the App Store on your iPhone (iOS 15.5+ required).
  2. Open the public invite link to join External Beta Testers:

  3. Tap Accept → Install (or Update if you already have an earlier build installed).
Android 10+ Google Play Store

  1. Download or update Blindly directly from Google Play (Android 10+ required):

  2. If you received a referral or invite link (/r/... or /c/...), tap the link on your phone first and let it redirect you to install or open the app.
Onboarding Setup

Required Permissions

When prompted during onboarding, please allow:

  • Camera & Microphone: Required to record your live Presence Clip.
  • Location (While Using the App): Used to show nearby members by distance band without ever exposing your exact coordinates.
  • Notifications: Required for connection requests, live chat messages, expiring space alerts, and Safety Shield check-in reminders.

2. What to Test (Step-by-Step Checklist)

Flow 1

Phone OTP Sign-In & Referral Attribution

  • Sign in with OTP: Tap GO BLIND, enter your 10-digit Indian mobile number (+91), and verify the 6-digit SMS code (auto-submits on the 6th digit).
  • Resend cooldown: Verify that requesting another OTP within 60 seconds shows a cooldown notice.
  • Age gate & resume: Confirm that 18+ date of birth and consent are required, and that force-closing and reopening the app mid-onboarding resumes where you left off.
  • Referral / Invite link (if applicable): Open an invite link before signing up and confirm that referral attribution carries through after onboarding completes.
Flow 2

Live Presence Clip Verification (Camera, Face & Voice Check)

  • Record your clip (4–30 seconds): On the Intro Video step, keep your face clearly visible in the frame with good lighting and speak the on-screen prompt clearly.
  • Test validation & rejection tips:
    • Try recording in a dark frame, looking away, staying silent, or speaking only a single word.
    • Confirm that the app shows a clear rejection sheet explaining why the clip was rejected (e.g., face not visible, clip too short, background noise, or too few spoken words) with tips before you retry.
  • Preview & upload: Record a clear clip speaking a full sentence, preview playback, and confirm it uploads and verifies cleanly.
Flow 3

Home Radar & Audio-First Discovery

  • Blind audio cards: Open Home and verify each discovery card shows the member's alias, age, distance band, mood/intentions, and plays their audio-only voice track—without ever revealing their face video on the radar.
  • Filters: Switch between For you, Nearby, New here, and Same mood and check that transitions are smooth.
  • Pass & Request actions:
    • Tap ✕ to pass or ♥ to send a connection request.
    • Check daily limits (up to 25 discovery cards and 10 requests per day, resetting at 04:00 IST).
Flow 4

Connection Requests, Withdrawals & Dual-Unlock

  • Sent & Received tabs: Open Requests to listen to incoming voice clips and check your Sent requests.
  • Withdraw & 24-hour cooldown: Withdraw a pending request from Sent, confirm the confirmation dialog appears, and verify that withdrawing places a 24-hour resend cooldown on that profile.
  • Accept & Private Space Unlock:
    • When both members say yes, verify the Private Space Unlock screen opens.
    • Test unlocking via Membership Passes (Day / Weekly / Monthly via Razorpay UPI or Card) or Referral Passes in Me → My Passes.
    • Confirm the Dual-Unlock Rule: the 24-hour private chat timer starts only once both participants have unlocked access.
Flow 5

Ephemeral 24-Hour Private Chat & Screenshot Protection

  • Real-time messaging: Send messages in Chats, verify instant delivery, typing indicators, and unread badges.
  • 24-hour countdown: Check the live countdown timer in the chat header (23h 59m left) and test extending a space with connection credits.
  • Partner Presence Clip & Screenshot Shield:
    • Open your connected partner's Presence Clip inside the chat.
    • Try taking a screenshot or screen recording while viewing the clip or private space—confirm the screen is blocked/blanked and the screenshot protection warning triggers.
Flow 6

Safety Shield (Overwatch), Report & Block

  • Check-in Timer & Trusted Contact: Go to Me → Safety & Overwatch (or the ⋯ menu inside a chat), add a trusted contact's Indian mobile number, and start a 30 min / 1 h / 2 h check-in timer. Verify local notifications fire and confirming "I'm safe" cancels the alert.
  • SOS Alert: Test the SOS slider to confirm immediate alert status feedback.
  • Report, Block & Hide Contacts:
    • Test Report or block from the chat ⋯ menu and confirm the member's name is shown read-only on the form.
    • Check Me → Blocked Accounts to view or unblock manually blocked profiles.
  • Invite Your Crush & Referrals:
    • Test Me → Invite your crush (sends an anonymous WhatsApp invite) and Me → Referral Program (share your invite link to earn free passes).
Section 03

3. How to Report Bugs & Earn Bug Rewards (₹1,000 – ₹10,000)

We reward testers ₹1,000 to ₹10,000 for valid, reproducible bug reports depending on severity and impact.

Recommended iOS & Android

Option A — In-App Feedback & Bug Rewards (Recommended)

  1. Open the app and go to Me → Feedback & Bug Rewards.
  2. Choose Report a problem (or tap the Report shortcut if you encounter an unexpected server error banner).
  3. Describe:
    • What happened vs. what you expected.
    • Exact steps to reproduce the issue.
  4. Attach up to 3 screenshots or screen-recorded clips (PNG, JPEG, MP4, or MOV up to 25 MB total).
  5. Submit your report and track its review status, staff replies, and Bug Reward (₹1,000 – ₹10,000) approval directly under Me → Feedback & Bug Rewards → My Submissions.
iOS Only Apple TestFlight

Option B — TestFlight Screenshot Feedback (iOS)

  1. Take a screenshot anywhere in the iOS app.
  2. Tap the thumbnail preview in the bottom-left corner → tap Share Beta Feedback.
  3. Add a short note explaining what went wrong and tap Submit.
